Oct. 14, 2015

Nashville, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt swim team will be spending their fall break in sunny San Diego, Calif. as the Commodores will be taking on San Diego State, the University of San Diego and Oregon State on Thursday and Friday.

Coming off a successful first meet against the Florida Gators, the ‘Dores look forward to competing on the road.

At 2:00 pm CT on Thursday the ‘Dores compete in their first tri-meet of the season, as the squad takes on SDSU and Oregon State in the Aztec Aquaplex. Last season the ‘Dores had back-to-back first-place finishes against SDAU in the 50-yard backstroke and 100-yard fly by Kathryn Coughlin and Breanna Sapienza, but were edged by the Aztecs in a slight 121-113 loss.

Vanderbilt will be facing Oregon State during both days of competition in California. Like VU, the Beavers also come off their home opener, winning five events against Arizona State en route to a close 109-94 loss.

On Friday, the Commodores and Beavers take to the waters once again, competing against the University of San Diego Toreros at Noon CT.
