Dore Jam, Vanderbilt’s annual Fan Day activity, will be held Sunday, August 14, and be staged in the program’s on-campus indoor multipurpose facility for the third straight year.
Vanderbilt’s official fan day experience, which annually attracts thousands of Commodore fans to campus for an afternoon of autographs, photographs and family fun, is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
Vanderbilt football players will join third-year Head Coach Derek Mason and the coaching staff at Dore Jam, offering fans a chance to greet their favorite student-athletes, and get autographs from both players and coaches.
The event also features several inflatable activities and interactive games for kids, along with face painters, balloon artists and photo opportunities with program mascot Mr. C and spirit leaders.
“Dore Jam is always one of the our most anticipated activities, and signals the start of another Commodore athletic calendar. It’s a fun event for everyone involved – our fans, players and coaches,” Vanderbilt Interim Senior Associate Athletics Director Martin Salamone said. “We look forward to a packed house of fans getting autographs and interacting with our players and coaches.”
The popular Dore Jam moved indoors to the on-campus facility in 2014 after having been staged outdoors on the John Rich Practice Facility from its inception in 2002. Moving Dore Jam indoors has been a big hit with fans.
New football posters designed for the event will be distributed free of charge at the entrance of Dore Jam. Free hot dogs and drinks will be available while supplies last.
Student-athletes from several other Commodore varsity sports, including the women’s soccer team which opens competition in mid-August, also will participate in Dore Jam.
Staffers from Barnes & Noble at Vanderbilt will be on-site with the latest Vanderbilt Athletics merchandise.
Free parking is available in the Vanderbilt Medical Center surface lots, located directly across Natchez Trace from the Vanderbilt Track & Field Complex.
