Dore Doubleheader Begins Homestand

Men's tennis hosts Ole Miss, Eastern Illinois in Saturday doubleheader

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt men’s tennis hosts Ole Miss and Eastern Illinois in its final doubleheader of the regular season on Saturday.

The Dores enter the weekend looking to end a ten-match losing streak. Vanderbilt comes off a battle with No. 16 Tennessee in a 4-3 match that came down to the final point. Senior Michael Ross and junior Nathan Cox remain in the ITA doubles rankings at No. 63 this week. The pair have generated three ranked wins in dual matches.

Ole Miss visits Nashville on an eight-match skid of its own after dropping a 4-1 road contest against Kentucky on Thursday. The Rebels own a 27-7 record against the black and gold. Last season’s matchup went the way of the Dores, who notched a 4-3 win.

Vanderbilt plays host to Eastern Illinois afterwards in the first ever meeting between the two programs. The doubleheader is the beginning of four straight home matches to close out the regular season. The Dores are 5-4 at home thus far.

No. 58 Vanderbilt (8-13, 1-10 SEC) kicks off play against No. 53 Ole Miss (11-11, 2-10 SEC) at noon with Eastern Illinois (6-18, 3-14 OVC) set to follow at 5:30 p.m. For more information, updates and exclusive game day content, follow the Vanderbilt men’s tennis team, @VandyMTennis, on Instagram and X.
