Donghyun Rounds Out Top-Ranked Class

Men's tennis finalizes 2025 class with Hwang Donghyun signing

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Hwang Donghyun is officially the final member of the incoming recruiting class for Vanderbilt men’s tennis, which was ranked No. 1 in the last Tennis Recruiting Network (TRN) rankings of 2025.

“We are thrilled to announce the signing of Hwang,” head coach Scott Brown said. Not only do we expect him to make an immediate impact right away this fall and carry it over into our season in the spring, but his personality and character fit right into the culture we are building.  We look forward to having him on West End in three weeks wearing the black and gold.”

Donghyun, a Seoul, South Korea native, is set to join the program in the fall. He has reached as high as No. 25 in the ITF junior rankings and boasts a 12.66 UTR. Donghyun has tournament wins at the J300 New Delhi and the J200 Chandigarh while going undefeated against other 5-star recruits.

He joins a class consisting of three others: Roh Hoyoung, the highest-ranked recruit in program history who also hails from South Korea, along with Jack Satterfield and Cayden Wang, both highly sought after Blue Chip recruits. It is the first No. 1 ranked class for Vanderbilt men’s tennis and is the second straight year the Dores have finished inside the top-25 of the TRN’s final recruiting rankings.
