The Commodores finished 17-over-par and are 14 shots back of the cut line going into Saturday’s second round.
“Today wasn’t the start we wanted or expected but we’ve got to own it and clean up the mistakes,” Vandy head coach Greg Allen said. “ We’ve got some work to do over the next couple days but I believe this team is capable of something special.”
Vandy was led Friday by senior Celina Sattelkau. The German shot an even-par 72 and is tied for 36th overall.
Lynn Lim carded a 76, Tess Davenport shot a 78, Virginie Ding finished with a 79 and Tillie Claggett ended the day at 9-over-par.
