David Elia Award

David Elia Award

10/28/2003

In addition to honoring our nine seniors Sunday, the Vanderbilt Women’s Soccer Program also presented the David J. Elia 110 Award in memory of the father of former Vanderbilt player, Kate Elia.

Mr. Elia, an exuberant and unfailing fan of the Commodore Women’s Soccer Program, was killed in a car accident the day after Kate’s Sophomore season ended. The 110 Award recognizes the one player voted by her teammates who puts in the extra effort to be the best player she can be and who continuously strives to work for the betterment of her team, modeling Mr. Elia’s own work ethic as a collegiate basketball athlete.

The Elia Family is proud to present this award in his name to the player who gives 110 percent, and keeps David Elia’s spirit alive.

This year’s David Elia recipient is Kendra Sasa.
