Former Vanderbilt standout quarterback Jay Cutler will host an exclusive football camp next week tailored to Middle Tennessee families.
Cutler’s Inspirato event will be held Saturday, July 18 at the Pope John Paul II High School in Hendersonville. The four-hour activity starts at 11 a.m.
Costs for the camp are $200 for a family of four, $150 for one parent and two children, and $100 for one parent and one child. Additional siblings can participate for $30 each. All proceeds from the exclusive camp will benefit kids with diabetes through The Jay Cutler Foundation.
“I’m excited to be back in Nashville and be able to team up with Inspirato and work with some families in Middle Tennessee and raise some money for our foundation assisting kids and families effected by Type 1 Diabetes,” Cutler said.
The former 2005 Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Year also thanked his former Vanderbilt offensive lineman Justin Geisinger for approving use of facilities at Pope John Paul II. Geisinger is the school’s head coach.
Kids ages 7-15 will be split into age appropriate groups, and get the opportunity to participate in an array of football activities, including flag football, the 40-yard dash, passing drills, and more with Jay and his special guests of instructors.
A silent auction will be held in conjunction with the Cutler Foundation, which the Chicago Bears’ starting quarterback began in 2009 after he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 24. The mission of Cutler’s foundation is to help children with diabetes learn how they can overcome the challenges of the disease. It funds screening clinics to test for childhood diabetes, summer camp attendance for Type 1 kids, and shows children with diabetes they can stay focused on their dreams.
Lunch will be provided to all campers.
