Associate Head Coach
15th season (Trenton State, 1996)

In two days, the Vanderbilt lacrosse team begins the 2014 season on Friday at Kennesaw State. To get ready for the 19th season in program history, vucommodores.com will spotlight all 29 players and coaches Cathy Swezey, Susan Ellis and Julie Gardner. This segment will offer an inside look into the team on and off the field.

Today, associate head coach Susan Ellis continues our countdown. Ellis is in her 15th year at Vanderbilt. She was promoted to associate head coach this summer by head coach Cathy Swezey, who played with Ellis at Trenton State in New Jersey in 1994. Ellis was named the IWLCA Defensive Player of the Year while Swezey earned Attack Player of the Year in helping Trenton State to its third national championship in four years.

At Vanderbilt, Ellis has been an important piece of the growth of the lacrosse program. She has helped Swezey and the Commodores make six NCAA Tournaments, including a Final Four appearance in 2004.
