Commodores travel to UF, USC

Vanderbilt continues its Southeastern Conference-opening road trip this weekend with games at No. 12 Florida and South Carolina. Both contests are scheduled to be televised.

Friday night’s game against the Gators (6 p.m. CT) will be shown by Fox Sports Florida (and available on a subscription basis on gatorzone.com), while Sunday’s matchup with the Gamecocks (2 p.m. CT) will be broadcast nationally by ESPNU.

The NCAA released its first official RPI numbers of the fall this week with Vanderbilt coming in at No. 32. The Commodores are fifth among SEC schools, which were led by Florida (No. 4) and Auburn (No. 5).

Vanderbilt returns home next weekend to play host to LSU and Arkansas. The LSU game on Friday, Oct. 7 (7 p.m. CT) has been designated as the Commodores’ “Power in Pink” game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free pink t-shirt, while the first 400 fans in attendance get a free pink wristband.
