NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt men’s basketball had a season-best four individuals score in double figures, with the Commodores making 4 of 5 free throws in the final 24 seconds to seal a 75-71 win over Central Arkansas Friday at Memorial Gymnasium.
Ezra Manjon paced the Commodores (3-1) with a game-high 16 points, which included making all four free-throw attempts in the closing seconds, as he extended his streak to 11 straight contests posting 15-plus points. Colin Smith finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds—becoming the first Dore since 2021 to post double-doubles in consecutive games—while Evan Taylor scored 14 points and Isaiah West supplied a career-best 12.
Javion Guy-King, Masai Olowokere and Daniel Sofield recorded 11 points each for the Bears (1-3), who also got a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double from Obongabasi Etim.
The Dores connected on nine 3-point field goals and committed only nine turnovers to overcome Central Arkansas, which shot 49.1 percent from the field including making 53.8 percent from 3-point range.
Vanderbilt is now off until Thanksgiving Day, when it will face NC State on the opening day of the Vegas Showdown. Tip-off for the contest is scheduled for 9 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
