CINCINNATI – Vanderbilt begins postseason play in the American Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 4 seed when it takes on No. 1 seed Florida on Thursday in Cincinnati, Ohio. The matchup is set for 3:30 p.m. CT at the Sheakley Athletics Center on the campus of the University of Cincinnati.
The Commodores (10-5, 2-3) are coming off back-to-back losses for just the first time this season after falling to Temple, 11-6, last Saturday.
The Dores are 3-1 in games this season coming off a loss, with those three wins coming by a combined 35 goals.
Vanderbilt faced Florida once this season and lost, 18-9, in Gainesville. The Commodores will be looking for their first win over the Gators since 2010 in a 12-7 victory at the American Lacrosse Conference Tournament.
The Dores will look to utilize their strong offense and defense in AAC Tournament play. They rank fourth nationally in assists per game (8.27), fourth in caused turnovers per game (12.73) and 12th in points per game (22.87).
Sophie Furlong ended the regular season as Vanderbilt’s leading goal-scorer, and she currently sits at second in nation with a shot percentage of 0.627%.
All tournament games will be played at the Sheakley Athletics Center and will be broadcast on the American Digital Network.
