NASHVILLE, TENN. – The Vanderbilt swim team hosts its second and final swim meet of the Fall Saturday against the Tulane Green Wave and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. The meet begins 11:00 a.m., with action taking place at the Centennial Sportsplex.
The Commodores boast a 7-5 duel-meet record and come off a very successful visit to Huntington,. W. Va. The `Dores shared off against Marshall and Xavier, swimming to first place finishes in ten of 16 events. Kara Lucenti recorded three first place finishes, the most from any Commodore that day. The `Dores also collected prominent wins in the 20 free relay and 100 fly. Vandy plans to carry on their successes tomorrow at home. In addition to swim events, Commodores host diving for both Tulane and WKU.
The Tulane Green Wave head to Nashville with a 1-2 duel meet record. Like the Commodores, Tulane comes off a successful meet against West Florida; breaking several program records and clinching multiple first place finishes.
Home to some of the fastest swimmers in Conference USA, the Hilltoppers bring a 2-0 duel-meet record to the table. Sophomore Nadine Laemmler has the fastest times in the league after finishing the 100 back in 55.65 and the 200 back in 2:00.43. Freshman Hannah Musser also tops the CUSA lists, swimming times of 55.07 in the 100 fly and 2:01.33 in the 200 fly.
After Saturday’s last fall home meet, the Commodores head to Atlanta, Ga. for the Georgia Tech Invitational on Nov. 20.
