AUBURN, Ala. — Jaylin Williams scored a game-high 21 points to lead four individuals in double figures for No. 16 Auburn as the Tigers defeated Vanderbilt, 81-54, Wednesday at Neville Arena.
Williams was 7-of-9 from the field, combining with Denver Jones—who added 19 points—to go 7-of-12 from 3-point range to move Auburn to 17-4 overall and 6-2 in the SEC. Johni Broome posted a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double for the Tigers, who also got 11 points from Chad Baker-Mazara.
Ven-Allen Lubin recorded a double-double in the first half for the Commodores (5-15, 0-7 SEC), ending the night with season-high totals of 17 points and 12 rebounds. Evan Taylor finished with 14 points for Vandy, and Tyrin Lawrence contributed 12 points and six boards.
Auburn shot 44.4 percent from the floor while limiting the Dores to just 26.8 percent shooting overall. The Tigers also ended up with a 45-34 rebounding advantage while recording assists on 21 of their 28 field goals.
Vandy returns home Saturday to play host to Missouri, with tip-off at Memorial Gymnasium scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
