Commodores Close Fall Ball At Georgetown

Nov. 1, 2006

WASHINGTON, D.C.. — The Vanderbilt women’s lacrosse team closed their Fall Ball schedule by competing in an exhibition tournament at Georgetown University.

The Commodores continued their strong off-season by posting impressive results against some of the nation’s top teams. Georgetown and Loyola both fell to Vanderbilt, while Penn State was able to muster a tie against the Commodores.

Head Coach Cathy Swezey’s squad ended their Fall tournament schedule with a 6-0-1 record — the best mark in school history.

“I was really happy with our team speed and aggression,” Swezey said. “We played well against some top-notch opponents and will carry that momentum over into the spring.”

The 2007 spring season opens for the Commodores on Monday, Feb. 19, when they play host to Albany at the VU Lacrosse Complex.
