Jennifer Cahill

2017-18 (First Season):
In Cahill’s first season with the Commodores, the Dores finished the season with a 4-4 record. Several swimmers beat their personal records this season as well as conquering Vanderbilt University records. The Dores saw victories against North Florida, Marshall, Campbell and Arkansas and placed sixth in the final day of the Houston Invite. Cahill helped coach the Dores to achieve their best times at the SEC Championships and the CSCAA National Invitational. Cahill is hopeful and optimistic for the upcoming 2018-19 season where she sees the Dores seeking out new success in the pool.

Personal: Head coach Jeremy Organ is pleased to welcome Jennifer Cahill as assistant coach for the Vanderbilt swim team. The former three-time Mountain West conference champion joins the Commodore staff after spending the past two years as a graduate assistant at TCU.

“Really excited to join this program,” said Cahill. “It is a young program and that is something I am familiar with as a student athlete so I am excited to get to do it on the other side of things. Super thankful for Jeremy and Erin Adkins for giving me this opportunity. Very excited for the future of Vandy swimming and what we can do for the program.”

“I am really excited for Jenn to join the program, she is a great compliment to me and the staff,” said Organ. “She has hit the ground running and the girls have responded well to her. Looking forward to having a great season with her on the staff.”

During her time at TCU, she helped guide the Horned Frogs to top five finishes at the Big-XII championships the past two years. Last season, the Horned Frogs set five school records and swam to 16 NCAA “B” cut times throughout the year.

Cahill graduated from Boise State in 2013 after an illustrious career in the pool for the Broncos. She won three conference championships in the 800 free relay and led the Broncos to three team titles. The three Mountain West team titles were the first three in school history. Cahill held two Boise State records in the 1000 freestyle (9:56.86) and 1650 freestyle (16.27.80) until this past season when both were broken.

During her freshman season, Cahill set the school record for wins as a freshman with 13. She graduated with 25 wins, which was third most in school history.

After graduating, she spent time working as an assistant coach with the Rocky Mountain High School and the Boise YMCA Swim team in Boise, Idaho.

In August 2014, Cahill joined the University of Puget Sound swimming team as an assistant coach. During her time in Tacoma, Washington, the Loggers earned 35 All-Conference accolades and had a top-five finish at the Northwest Conference Championships.

Cahill was born and raised in Maui, Hawaii, where she swam under head coach Reid Yamamoto at the Hawaii Swim Club.
