NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Finishing out its lone home event of the 2020 fall season, Vanderbilt closed the Commodore Invitational on Sunday with indoor action against Kentucky.
Afternoon showers forcing play indoors for the first time on the weekend, Adam Sraberg put together a nice comeback at No. 5 singles to take down Ying-Ze Chen 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 to earn the Dores their only point of the afternoon. Elsewhere, George Harwell fought back to force a third set, but an up and down third ended with Harwell falling 6-3, 6-7, 6-3.
Overall, Vanderbilt closes the Commodore Invitational with 10 victories across singles and doubles with each active member of the roster playing at least one match throughout the three-day event. Marcus Ferreira led Vandy with a pair of singles victories, topping opponents from Arkansas and Auburn during the first two days of the tournament.
Vanderbilt will take two weekends away from action before returning to the courts Nov. 6-8 in Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the Four-In-The-Fall.
