Nashville youngster Clayton Hurd could appear in Vanderbilt’s upcoming advertising campaign after winning the “Kid Commodore” audition staged recently at a local mall.

Clayton, the 5-year-old son of Stephen and Elizabeth Hurd, was picked from more than 25 youngsters participating in an audition last month at the The Mall at Green Hills.

Hurd, who enjoys football and soccer more than other sports, was picked from the audition, which included brief video interviews quizzing the contestants’ knowledge of Vanderbilt athletics. Commodore Head Coach Bobby Johnson conducted each of the interviews.

In addition to having the opportunity to appear in the team’s advertising campaign, Hurd and his family also will attend Commodore home games free of charge. The family won season tickets for all six Vanderbilt home games as part of the Kid Commodore promotion.

Also, the Vanderbilt athletic marketing staff is announcing multiple winners of recent prize drawings staged in conjunction with five Commodores in the Community events and the program’s online season ticket renewal promotion.
