Monday: Locker Room | Commodore Summer Countdown Contest
You spoke and we listened. During the offseason, Vanderbilt athletics focused on improving the overall experience fans have with parking, tailgating and the pregame and in game atmosphere at Commodore football games.
Through the use of a fan forum, an online suggestion box and many conversations, athletics officials compiled a fan’s wish list of changes and began making a concerted effort to make many of those ideas a reality.
As a result of fan feedback, those attending Vanderbilt’s football games in the fall will notice many changes that will be implemented to improve their experience on gameday.
Tuesday: Parking | 2011 NCC Parking Map & Form 
On Monday VUCommodores.com began its weeklong series titled Changing the Culture by looking inside the renovated football locker room. Although the locker room is not noticeable on gameday, the impact is already being felt throughout the program.
Today, VUCommodores.com highlights the additional parking options available for Commodore fans on gameday. In an effort to maximize the flat lot spaces near the stadium and expand the available tailgating lots, new lower giving levels have been established for purchasing season parking passes.
In addition to receiving all of the member benefits, fans who join the National Commodore Club for as little as $150, will receive a parking pass for the lots adjacent to Natchez Trace and the Vandyville tailgating area.
To provide a wide range of parking options for fans, there will now be five different giving levels accepted for the flat lots located between Natchez Trace and Vanderbilt Place adjacent to Vanderbilt Stadium. Previously, there were just two giving levels eligible for NCC parking passes – $500-$2,999 and $3,000-plus.
“We reevaluated our NCC priority parking this past winter and our main emphasis coming out of it was to try and pack our parking lots with as many Vanderbilt fans as possible while also ensuring the integrity and maintaining the value of being an NCC member,” said Mark Carter, Executive Director of the National Commodore Club.”
In order to receive a parking pass in the NCC lots, fans must become a National Commodore Club member at the corresponding levels and purchase football season tickets for 2011. The levels are:

- Lot 1 – $3,000+

- Lot 1A – $1,500 – $2,999 (NEW)

- Lot 2 – $500 – $1,499

- Lot 3 – $250 – $499 (NEW)

- Lot 4 – $150 – $249 (NEW)
“What we don’t say very often but probably should is that by joining the NCC at the $150 level or higher you will receive a free parking pass,” Carter said. “It’s complimentary in other words, so I’d invite all our fans who aren’t members, who come regularly to football games and either pay to park or park miles away and walk, to join the NCC and enjoy all the member benefits while also getting more bang for your buck.”
So far the response for the new parking opportunities has been outstanding. However, there are still spots available for the 2011 season. Fans interested in joining the National Commodore Club and receiving a season parking pass may do so online, by calling the NCC at 615-322-4114 or in person at the McGugin Center between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Current members of the National Commodore Club who haven’t purchased season tickets can contact Robin Langlois (615-343-7145) in the NCC office to request a single game NCC parking pass.
In addition to the NCC parking options, fans may also still purchase a season parking pass for $70 in the 25th Avenue Parking Garage. Free garage parking will again be available in the Terrace Place and Wesley Place Garages. The Terrace Place Garage is located on the east side of 21st Avenue behind Qdoba. Wesley Place Garage is at the corner of 21st Avenue South and Scarritt Place.
