Vandy earns a 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the first time in program history, Vanderbilt soccer has secured a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Commodores, who won the 2025 SEC Tournament in penalties, are headed back to the dance for the 14th time in program history and earn the right to host for the second straight season, fourth time in program history. It marks the third time Vandy enters the tournament seeded.

The Dores open the single-elimination regional on Friday, hosting Tennessee Tech at 7 p.m. The Commodores and Golden Eagles faced off earlier this season, resulting in a 6-0 decision for Vandy. Other teams in the region include Clemson, Liberty, Iowa, South Dakota State, Houston Christian and LSU.

Vandy enters the tournament on a nine-match unbeaten streak. During 2025, the Commodores racked up six results against United Soccer Coaches top-25 opponents and are ranked No. 4 in the NCAA RPI.

The Commodores are one of nine Southeastern Conference teams selected to the field. Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Tennessee join Vanderbilt.

Fans interested in attending the opening match at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex must purchase a ticket. Adult tickets will be available for purchase for $15, with the cost $10 for students and youth ages 3-18; children under 2 years old will be admitted for free.
