Former Vanderbilt All-American Ally Carey is starring for the women’s US Lacrosse team at the 2017 FIL Women’s World Cup at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford, England.
Carey and her American teammates are a perfect 3-0 in Pool A heading into Sunday’s game with unbeaten Canada at noon CT. Watch the US take on Canada here.
Carey helped the US get off to a hot start in the tournament on Thursday, earning Player of the Match honors in the American’s 19-3 win over Scotland. Carey scored the first goal of the match just 56 seconds in and helped the US to a 14-10 advantage on draw controls.
The US downed host England 18-1 on Saturday afternoon for the team’s third win of the tournament. Saturday’s victory came on the heels of a hard-fought 15-8 win over rival Australia on Friday.
Carey donned the Black & Gold from 2009-12 earning first-team All-America honors for three straight seasons from 2010-12.
