USLacrosse.org – Following a three-day tryout featuring more than 80 of the top women’s lacrosse players in the country, US Lacrosse announced the roster for the 2012-14 U.S. women’s national senior team. This 36-player group will serve as the training team pool for the team that will defend Team USA’s 2009 gold medal at the 2013 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Cup in Oshawa, Ontario.
Among those chosen to the squad were 2012 Vanderbilt graduate Ally Carey and Commodore assistant coach Amber Falcone. Both Carey and Falcone were part of the 2011-12 U.S. women’s national senior team.
In total, 82 players representing 34 institutions participated in final tryouts on the campus of UMBC, held July 27-29 in Catonsville, Md. Rising Vanderbilt junior Alyssa Dunlap was among those invited to participate in the tryout.
