NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Sophomore Ally Carey, senior Sarah Downing, and senior Alex Mundy have earned All-America honors, the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association announced on Monday.
Carey received first-team All-America honors, while Downing and Mundy were each named second-team All-Americans.
A sophomore from Maryland, Carey led the team with 63 draw controls, 49 ground balls, and 42 caused turnovers as a midfielder for the ‘Dores. She also added 40 goals and 26 assists during the season.
Downing was an offensive force for Vanderbilt, totaling a team-high 34 assists to go along with her 40 goals, 39 ground balls, 17 draw controls, and 25 caused turnovers. The honor is Downing’s second consecutive All-America honor, after being named a first-team All-American as a junior.
Mundy helped lead the Commodores defensively as she recorded 26 ground balls, 14 draw controls, and 21 caused turnovers on the season. It is also the second time Mundy has been named an All-American in her career. She earned third-team All-America honors for her play as a junior.
