Brown Beaten In NCAA Singles Play

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Vanderbilt senior Scott Brown was upset Wednesday by Henner Nehles of UNLV (6-2, 6-4) in the Round of 64 at the NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles Championships, hosted by Texas A&M at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.

Brown is scheduled to team up with freshman Jason Pinsky Thursday in the opening round of the doubles championships. The Commodore duo will take on Phil Charm and Adil Shamasdin of Brown University no earlier than 1 p.m. CT.

The St. Louis native led the Commodores this season with a singles record of 17-6 in dual-match play at the No. 1 position. Brown was the only VU player to qualify for the men’s singles draw.
