NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Abi Brighton earned recognition from the United Soccer Coaches after a historic season. Brighton was named United Soccer Coaches third-team All-American after helping the Commodores to the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history.
The Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, native was named second-team All-SEC and first-team United Soccer Coaches All-Region after appearing in 19 matches for the black and gold this season, registering over 1,500 minutes on the pitch. The fifth-year helped control an offensive that posted 45 goals, tied for 12th in program history and the most since the 2018 campaign.
Brighton becomes just the ninth player in program history to receive the honor and the first since former Commodore and current NC Courage star Haley Hopkins was named to the third team after the 2020-21 season.
The midfielder closed her collegiate career appearing in 93 matches (92 starts) and registering over 7,500 minutes on the pitch. Brighton posted 35 points over her career on 10 goals and 15 assists.
