Vanderbilt men's tennis faces Kentucky on the road

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt men’s tennis team visits Kentucky tomorrow for a Saturday showdown.

Sophomore Danil Panarin notched the sole victory for the Dores in singles yesterday against No. 16 Mississippi State. The result was Panarin’s team-high third ranked singles victory. Vandy comes into Saturday on a five-match losing streak, its longest skid since 2022. The Dores trail 28-9 in the all-time series against the Wildcats; their last win came as a 4-3 result in 2019.

Kentucky is unbeaten this season at home, going 64-8 in Lexington since 2021. Jaden Weeks is the team’s highest-ranked player at No. 53 while also tied for the lead in singles wins with 15. Kentucky has four total players ranked in the ITA singles rankings. In doubles, the Wildcats are led by Charlelie Cosnet and Antoine Ghibaudo, who own a 6-2 record in SEC play. Kentucky has one top-25 win so far and reached as high as No. 8 in the ITA team rankings earlier this season.

No. 48 Vanderbilt (8-8, 1-5 SEC) visits No. 27 Kentucky (10-6, 3-3 SEC) tomorrow with play set to begin at noon.
