NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The American Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners Monday afternoon, highlighted by Brooke Baker being named AAC Midfielder of the Week for the second time this season. Nancy Halleron was also named to honorable mention for the fifth consecutive week.
Baker led Vanderbilt to a dominating 20-6 win at Lindenwood last Wednesday, finishing with five goals for the second time this season. The Raleigh, North Carolina, native helped power the Commodores with a first-quarter hat trick to its second 20-goal performance of the year. The graduate student scooped a ground ball, caused a turnover and won a draw control in the win, leading the Dores to their fifth road win of the year, the most since the 2010 season. Baker is one of three Vanderbilt players with at least 37 goals this season.
Halleron, who finished with her second straight four-goal performance, picked up two ground balls and caused one turnover in the victory.
