• Charlotte enters Saturday’s conference matchup 5-5 (0-1 AAC), coming off a 9-15 loss to Old Dominion
• This is the inaugural season of Charlotte Lacrosse, a new member of the American Athletic Conference
• Charlotte leads the conference in assists per game (7.77), caused turnovers per game (9.80) and points per game (23.20). The 49ers rank second in the AAC in scoring offense (15.30), shots per game (34.30), ground balls per game (17.90) and draw controls per game (16.70)
• Nationally, Charlotte is ranked eighth in points per game, ninth in assists per game and tenth in shots on goal per game (25.80)
The Scouting Report
• Senior attacker Kylie Gioia leads the conference in total assists (31), which is seventh most in the country so far this year, and points (55) which ranks third nationally
• Isa Torres leads the 49ers in goals with 28 so far this season and has the second most points in 35
• Freshman attacker Brooke Alessandrini led Charlotte in their conference opener with four goals, marking consecutive games with four scores earning a spot on this week’s AAC Honorable Mention. Alessandrini has scored in every game this season for the 49ers
Last Time Out for the Dores
• Vanderbilt topped Rider 20-13 on Tuesday evening, scoring the most goals of the season so far. The last time Vandy found the cage 20 times was at Old Dominion in 2022
• The Dores had five score multiple goals, led by Kemper Robinson and Jaime Biskup who added five each. Robinson tallied a perfect shooting percentage, going 5-of-5, won four draw controls, picked up three ground balls and caused two turnovers
• Nancy Halleron posted her second four-goal performance of the season. Molly Krestinski earned a team-high five draw controls while freshman Zawadi Brown added two. Bailey Lower posted three straight goals for her first career hat trick
• Vandy dished a season-high 13 assists on its 20 goals, the most by the team this season. Avery Morton led the way for the Dores by adding a career-high three assists
Freshman Steppin’ Up
• In Tuesday’s win, Vandy’s freshman stepped up to make a huge impact. Emme Martin, Zawadi Brown and Bailey Lower all made key plays throughout the game to help put the Dores in a potion to win
• In cage, Emme Martin entered the contest midway through the second quarter to post six saves
• Zawadi Brown got the most action so far this season, picking up two draw controls and making some big defensive stops
• Bailey Lower scored three straight goals to mark her first career hat trick
