NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the second consecutive week, freshman Gabby Putman was named American Conference Midfielder of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. Cora Betten and Emma Davis earned honorable mention recognition.
Putman totaled 12 draw controls on the week, including matching her career high with nine at Xavier on Saturday. The Cicero, New York, native also recorded a goal and an assist in Vanderbilt’s 15-2 victory.
Betten made her first career start at Xavier and finished the week with five draw controls, three ground balls and a caused turnover. Davis earned conference recognition after posting a career-best four caused turnovers at Xavier while adding four ground balls.
It marked the first time both Betten and Davis earned conference honors.
Vanderbilt continues its three-game road swing Saturday, opening conference play at Old Dominion. Opening draw is set for 11 a.m. CT on ESPN+.
