All-America Honors for Vandy Duo

Gabby Fornia and Bri Gross named ILWomen All-America

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Fifth-year senior Gabby Fornia and senior Bri Gross were named All-America honorable mention by ILWomen on Monday.

This is the second All-America recognition for the pair, as Fornia and Gross were also selected as honorable mentions on the USA Lacrosse All-America team. The pair were two of Vanderbilt’s three student-athletes named first-team All-American Athletic Conference after impressive 2022 seasons.

Fornia led Vanderbilt in assists and ranked third nationally. She broke her own program record for single-season assists (56) in the AAC championship game and owns the Vanderbilt records for career assists and points. ILWomen recognized Fornia as a midseason All-America honorable mention.

Gross also earned second-team All-Region honors from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association. The senior led the team with 74 draw controls and was second in goals (31), points (41) and ground balls (32). She was also included on ILWomen’s midseason and preseason All-America lists as an honorable mention.

The duo is Vanderbilt’s first All-Americans since Ally Carey in 2012.
