COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Myles Stute scored a career-best 22 points Saturday but it wasn’t enough as Texas A&M held off Vanderbilt men’s basketball 72-66 at Reed Arena.
Henry Coleman III paced the Aggies (15-6, 7-1 SEC) with 18 points and six rebounds, and Wade Taylor IV chipped in with 14 and seven, respectively. Tyrece Radford also scored 14 points for Texas A&M.
Stute matched a career high with seven 3-point field goals, with Jordan Wright adding 15 points and five rebounds and Trey Thomas posting 13 points and five boards for the Commodores (10-11, 3-5 SEC). Quentin Millora-Brown paced Vandy with six rebounds.
The Aggies made 23-of-36 attempts at the foul line and had a 32-20 edge in points in the paint to overcome 12 3-pointers from the Dores.
Next up for the Commodores will be a visit to No. 2/2 Alabama, with opening tip on Tuesday scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
