Kicking things off Jan. 30 against Belmont, the Dores’ campaign starts with five nonconference matches against the Bruins, Drake, Rice, Illinois State and Memphis, respectively, before transitioning to SEC play. Its last nonconference match is set for March 14 against Middle Tennessee State.
In conference action, Vanderbilt is set to welcome Texas A&M, Arkansas, Florida, South Carolina, Mississippi State and Ole Miss to Nashville. Four of the team’s six home matches in SEC play come on back-to-back weekends to start the month of April. During the season, Vandy will also visit LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia.
This year’s SEC Tournament will be held April 19-25 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, with the NCAA Team and Individual Tournaments set for May 7-29.
Vanderbilt comes off a fall season in which it competed in three tournaments.
Max Freeman and Marcus Ferreira led the way in singles play with four wins apiece with James Ignatowich earning three singles victories. In doubles play, George Harwell and Freeman led the way with five and four wins, respectively, while Ferreira and Macsen Sisam paired to win three matches together.
The Dores return senior leadership in Freeman, Harwell and Adam Sraberg while welcoming Connor Robb-Wilcox and Jeremie Casabon to the fold for their first spring seasons at the collegiate level. Harwell led Vandy through its 2020 spring season with a 10-3 record before the remainder of the season was cancelled after 13 matches due to the pandemic.
