Women's Basketball To Play In Acrisure Classic

Vanderbilt will take on Arizona and either Cal or Michigan State during Thanksgiving week in Palm Springs, California

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The Vanderbilt women’s basketball will be one of four teams participating in the 2024 Women’s Acrisure Classic during Thanksgiving week in Palm Springs, California.

The Acrisure Classic is a part of the Acrisure Series, the country’s largest MTE series, (multiple team event) which will be held at the beautiful new 11,000-seat Acrisure Arena.

The Acrisure Classic boasts some of the nation’s strongest programs, as Arizona, Vanderbilt, and Michigan State were all selected to play in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. Former Pac-12 standout California will also be a part of the Acrisure Classic, which will take place November 26th and 27th.

Vanderbilt is coming off its first NCAA Tournament appearance in a decade, as the Commodores 23-10 during the 2023-24 regular season. The 23 wins were the most in a season for Vanderbilt since the 2011-12 campaign. Vandy picked up a 72-68 win over Columbia in the First Four to give the Dores their first March Madness win since the 2013 NCAA Tournament.

“We are excited to have creatively scheduled four full days of high-quality men’s and women’s college basketball at Acrisure Arena,” said co-tournament Director Dan Shell. “We are very grateful to our partners at Acrisure and Visit Greater Palm Springs who made this event possible, and for TNT Sports for jumping into this with us for the years to come to take this event to the next level. We think the Acrisure series of college basketball events will be among the best holiday events in the country.

“Sponsoring the Acrisure Series is a testament to our commitment to excellence and community engagement,” said Acrisure’s chairman and CEO Greg Williams. “We are thrilled to see the tournament expand in 2024, bringing fans from across the country to Acrisure Arena for an unforgettable celebration of top-tier college basketball. We are proud to play a hand in creating and growing this premier event on the basketball calendar.”

“We’re gearing up for the second annual Acrisure Series with excitement and anticipation,” said Scott White, President & CEO at Visit Greater Palm Springs. “Spectators will experience our oasis of picturesque mountains, endless sunshine, palm-tree filled vistas and world-class accommodations. Greater Palm Springs is a quintessential destination for visitors interested in a variety of unforgettable experiences in an iconic setting, and we are thrilled to be the host destination.”
