CHAPEL Hill, NC – Vanderbilt’s Chris Brady led the Commodore women’s golf team to a third place team finish by shooting one-under par over the 54 holes of the Lady Tarheel Invitational Sunday. Vanderbilt ended the tournament with a 302 score Sunday, good for a 893 total, to finish behind Duke (861) and Auburn (882).

Brady had her second even par 72 in three days to end up in a tie for third place at 215, nine behind Ashley Knoll of Texas A & M and one back of Duke’s Anna Grzebien. Kristen Svicarovich finished in an 18th place deadlock after posting a closing 76, putting her plus-eight for the event. Liebelei Lawrence had another 77 to finish 21st while Jacqui Concolino also shot 77 and Amber Lundskog came in with an 80.

Brady had four birdies and two bogeys on the front side Sunday and added two bogeys on the back.

“We played pretty solid golf but couldn’t quite put it together on this last day as we would have liked,” said Coach Martha Richards Freitag. “None the less, we are pleased with a third place finish in this excellent field and with such a young team. We finished ahead of a lot of good teams and now start looking forward to Stanford in a few weeks.”

Other SEC schools competing in the tournament included South Carolina, which came in 10th, LSU in a 13th place tie, Tennessee in 15th position and Kentucky in the 17th spot.
