Women's Golf Travels to Lady Tar Heel Invitational

The 18th-ranked Vanderbilt women’s golf team travels to Chapel Hill, N.C. this weekend to compete in the Lady Tar Heel Invitational Oct. 6-8 at the Finely Golf Course (Par 72, 6,285 yards).

Eleven squads in the 18-team field are ranked according to the latest Golfweek magazine poll. Four of the six Southeastern Conference squads participating in the tournament are listed in the rankings, including No. 5 Auburn, No. 14 LSU, No. 15 Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

The Commodores performed well in a very competitive NCAA Fall Preview, Sept. 22-24, in Daytona, Fla. Vanderbilt posted its best team round of the season (a four-over par 291) on the final day and finished fifth at the event that included 12 nationally ranked teams.

Commodore sophomore Jacqui Concolino enters this weekend’s tournament ranked eighth in the nation according to Golfweek. The Orlando, Fla. native tied for fourth place at the NCAA Fall Preview and leads the team with a 72.17 stroke average.

Senior Chris Brady tied for 18th place at the NCAA Fall Preview and ranks second on the squad with a 74.00 stroke average. Freshman Brooke Goodwin has played well in two fall tournaments and owns a 75.33 stroke average.

Other Commodores playing this weekend include junior Liebelei Lawrence and senior Kristen Svicarovich.
