The ninth-ranked Vanderbilt women’s golf team travels to Palo Alto, Calif., to compete in the Stanford Intercollegiate, Oct. 20-22. The three-day event takes place at the Stanford Golf Course (Par 72, 6,154 yards).
The 15-team tournament features eight squads ranked in the latest Golfweek Top 25 poll, including top-ranked Georgia, No. 2 Duke, No. 3 UCLA, No. 6 Stanford, No. 12 Arizona, No. 15 New Mexico and No. 21 Arkansas.
Vanderbilt is coming off a first-place finish at the Lady Tar Heel Invitational (Oct. 6-8) where the Commodores outlasted nationally ranked Virginia and two-time defending national champion Duke for medalist honors. Three Commodores finished among the top 10 players at the event, including senior Chris Brady (tied for fourth with a 219), sophomore Jacqui Concolino (tied for seventh with a 220) and senior Kristen Svicarovich (tied for ninth with a 222).
Concolino, who ranks ninth nationally according to Golfweek, has posted nine Top 10 finishes in her young career and leads the Commodores this season with a 72.56 stroke average. Brady currently ranks 27th nationally after recording her best finish of the fall season two weeks ago in North Carolina. Her 73.67 stroke average ranks second on the squad.
The Commodores are paired with No. 1 Georgia and No. 2 Duke to start the Stanford Intercollegiate Friday. Vanderbilt players include Brady, Svicarovich, Concolino, junior Liebelei Lawrence and freshman Brooke Goodwin. The Commodores will tee off from the first hole at 10:40 a.m. CT.
