NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Season ticket sales for Vanderbilt women’s basketball games surpassed last year’s total earlier this week as the 15th-ranked Commodores prepared to play their first regular season home game this Saturday against Dartmouth.

Vanderbilt officials announced that 2,125 season tickets had already been purchased for the upcoming season. Already over 100 tickets ahead of last year’s total, sales have been boosted by the introduction of a $25 season ticket for bleacher seats — including lower-level seating in sections G through K.
The Commodores went 13-2 at home last season and Memorial Gymnasium ranked in the nation’s Top 25 for average attendance. Vanderbilt will play 16 home games this season, including contests against nationally ranked California, Tennessee and LSU.
Another highlight of the schedule is a nationally televised “Pink Out” during VU’s Dec. 3 game against Clemson. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the event to raise breast cancer awareness, and a portion of ticket proceeds will benefit research initiatives at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
After a pair of road victories to open the 2006-07 season, Vanderbilt plays at home for the first time this year when Dartmouth visits Nashville on Saturday, Nov. 18, for a 4 p.m. CT tip-off.
The Commodores will play four consecutive home games, with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi visiting on Monday, Nov. 20, and Belmont, California and Florida Atlantic competing in the VU Thanksgiving Tournament, Nov. 24-25.
