White to serve as honorary starter at Brentwood YMCA's Half Marathon

Oct. 26, 2016

Vanderbilt first-year head coach Stephanie White will serve as the honorary starter for this year’s Toyota Cool Springs Harvest Moon Half Marathon on Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Brentwood Family YMCA. Prior to the race, White will also be having a meet-and-greet, which begins at 7 a.m.

“As new residents of Brentwood, and active members of the Brentwood YMCA, my family and I have seen first-hand the impact that the YMCA can have,” said White. “So I am extremely honored and excited to serve as the starter for the race and to have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the community members of Brentwood — and beyond.”

White, a running enthusiast herself, will be on the starting line to count the runners down at the start of the race, which will take runners along the Brentwood area greenways through the scenic landscape of Williamson County. Free childcare will be available for Brentwood YMCA members on race day.

The day will also feature a 5k race (8:30 a.m.) and a kids fun run (10 a.m.). The YMCA will also host a Fall Fest — which includes inflatables, music games and a hay ride — at 10 a.m.
