WG to play in LSU Golf Classic

The eighth-ranked Vanderbilt Commodore women’s golf team will play in its third tournament of the spring when the team travels to Baton Rouge to participate in the LSU Golf Classic at The University Club, which will be set up as a par-72, 6,186-yard layout. The tournament will feature 18 holes each on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

This weekend’s tournament will feature the College of Charleston, Kentucky, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisville, LSU, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Purdue, TCU, Tennessee, UNC Wilmington, Virginia and the Commodores.

The Commodores will send senior Marina Alex, juniors Anna Leigh Keith and Lauren Stratton, sophomore Rene Sobolewski, and freshmen Irina Gabasa and Kendall Martindale to compete in the tournament. Vanderbilt will begin their round at 9:50 a.m. CT off of the number one tee.

Stratton and Alex are ranked number 10 and 11, respectively, in the latest Golfweek individual rankings.
