NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt women’s golf, fresh off of a fourth-place finish at the Mason Rudolph Women’s Championship, heads to Chapel Hill, N.C., this Friday through Sunday to participate in the Tar Heel Invitational at the par-72, 6,285-yard UNC Finley Golf Course.
Eighteen teams will compete in the 54-hole tournament this weekend at the event hosted by the Tar Heels, with 18 holes being played on each day. Tee times begin at 9:00 a.m. off No. 1 and No. 10 tees on Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday, a shotgun start takes place at approximately 9:15 a.m.
The teams participating in the tournament include Auburn, Central Florida, Florida State, Furman, Kent State, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, North Carolina, NC State, Ohio State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Tulsa, UNC-Greensboro, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.
The Commodores, who finished fourth at the Mason Rudolph Championship last weekend, moved up to sixth in the latest “Golfweek” poll, their highest ranking since the 2006-07 campaign.
Competing for Vanderbilt at the tournament are freshman Marina Alex, sophomore Megan Grehan, junior Brooke Goodwin, freshman Andrea Messer and senior Jacqui Concolino. Both Alex (sixth) and Grehan (tied-seventh) finished in the top 10 at the Mason Rudolph.
