The 12th-ranked Vanderbilt women’s golf team moved up one position on the team leader board to fifth place and is currently at 12-over par for the tournament after the second round was suspended due to weather Saturday at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Commodores are one hole short of completing their round, and will finish up the second round Sunday morning at 8 a.m. ET, with the final round beginning immediately after the second round concludes.
Kendall Martindale led Vanderbilt with a three-under, 69, on Saturday.
“Kendall put together a solid round and really kept us in it on a day when the others weren’t having a great day,”: said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “I am proud of how they hung in there and showed great patience on a day where we could have slid down the leader board.”
Commodore Scores
The Commodores were led by senior Kendall Martindale on Saturday, who carded a three-under par, 69, and jumped up 21 places on the individual leader board to a tie for eighth. Junior Jennifer Hahn is also in a tie for eighth, and is the only Commodore who has to complete her second round. Hahn has one hole left to play, and is one-over par through 15 holes. Other counters for Vanderbilt on Saturday included a four-over, 76, from junior Morgan Ransom, and a 77 from sophomore Antonia Scherer. Freshman Cindy Ha carded a six-over, 78, on Saturday.
