The Commodores’ women’s golf team moved up three spots in the team standings to eighth place on Monday at the UCF Challenge after firing a second-round, one-over par, 289, at the Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando. For the tournament, Vanderbilt has a two round total of 598 (309-289).
Senior Jennifer Hahn led the way for the Commodores on Monday with a three-under par, 69, which vaulted her into sixth on the individual leader board with a one-over par, 145 (76-69). Hahn’s 69 was one of only seven rounds on the day that was in the 60’s. Vanderbilt also counted a one-under, 71, from sophomore Cindy Ha, a one-over, 73, from junior Kate Sborov, and a pair of four-over, 76’s, from freshman Courtney Zeng and sophomore Alexandra Farnsworth.
“The conditions were much better today and the girls really took advantage and capitalized on the birdie opportunities,” said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “I love the attitude and energy of this team. I look forward to seeing what we can do tomorrow.”
Missouri leads all teams with an eight-over par, 584 (301-283), three shots better than second-place Tulane. Michelle Butler of Missouri and F. Gustafsson Spang of East Carolina hold the individual lead at three-under, 141.
The final round concludes on Tuesday in Orlando.
