Second Round Results
The Vanderbilt women’s golf team posted a two-round score of 590 (298-292) and are in seventh place in the team standings at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz., after two rounds of play. Individually, sophomore Alexandra Farnsworth led all VU golfers with a one-under par, 143 (71-72), on Monday and is in a tie for ninth in the individual standings.
Other Vanderbilt scores on Monday included a 146 from senior Jennifer Hahn (73-73), which tied her for 15th, a 147 from junior Kate Sborov (73-74), which tied her for 18th, a 154 from freshman Courtney Zeng (81-73, T-59), and a 162 from sophomore Cindy Ha (81-81, 76).
“I’m really proud of the fight we showed in the second round,” said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “We weren’t that far off in the morning round, but that fourth score really hurt us. I’m proud of Courtney for turning it around in the afternoon. I like what Farney, Jenn and Kate did today as well. They were very consistent and look very confident in what they were doing. Once we learn how to eliminate the big numbers, we’re gonna be just fine.”
Arizona State leads the team standings with a team score of 574 (285-289), one shot better than host Arizona. The Sun Devils’ Linnea Strom leads all individuals with a nine-under par, 135 (67-68).
The third and final round concludes Tuesday in Tucson.
