The Vanderbilt women’s golf team ended the PING/ASU Invitational in ninth place with a team total of 894 (296-295-303), and sophomore Lauren Stratton paced the Commodore effort with a final score of 220 (72-73-75).
Stratton and junior Marina Alex each fired a third-round 75 on Sunday to lead Vanderbilt.
UCLA claimed the team title with a final total of 863 (276-289-298), four strokes better than second-place, USC, who finished with an 867 (281-284-302). The Trojans’ Sophia Popov won medalist honors with a five-under par, 211 (69-71-71), and claimed the individual title by two strokes over the Bruins’ Tiffany Lua.
Vanderbilt returns to the course April 15-17 at the SEC Championships at Auburn.
