Vanderbilt shot another three-over par, 291, on Friday, which tied its best round of the championship. The Commodores counted scores from Goodwin, Marina Alex, Lauren Stratton, and Anna Leigh Keith on Friday.
Alex struck the ball well all day, but could not get any putts to fall. The sophomore from Wayne, N.J., had two birdies and two bogeys in her round on Friday, and finished the tournament at four-over par, 292 (75-72-73-72, T-21). Stratton posted a final-round even par and ended the tournament with a 297 (78-74-73-72, T-50), and Keith posted a 76 on Friday en route to a 303 (71-81-75-76, T-82). Megan Grehan finished the tournament with a 304 (74-75-76-79, T-86).
“Today, was one of those days where we hit the ball well, but we just couldn’t make any putts,” said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “I’m really happy for Brooke, finishing her career the way she did. She has been a part of two of the best three finishes in Vanderbilt history, and I’m proud of her for that.
“It’s been a team effort since Greensboro this year. We became a deep team, their confidence grew, and they really believed they could compete with anyone.
