The 25th-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores travel to Palo Alto, Calif., to take part in the Stanford Intercollegiate this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Stanford Golf Course. Teams will begin teeing off at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, while Sunday’s final round will begin at 7:30 a.m.
Four of the top 10 teams in the nation will be in the field, including top-ranked USC, No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 Arizona State and No. 7 California. In addition, No. 12 Oklahoma State, No. 18 Denver and the number 25 Commodores will join 15th-ranked Stanford this weekend.
Vanderbilt sophomore Marina Alex, the sixth-ranked individual in the nation, will be joined by senior Brooke Goodwin, junior Megan Grehan, and true freshmen Anna Leigh Keith and Lauren Stratton at the tournament this weekend.
Four of the top six individual players in the nation will also be represented. USC’s Jennifer Song, winner of last year’s U.S.Women’s Amateur and Public Links titles, is ranked as the top individual player by Golfweek Magazine. UCLA’s Sydnee Michaels, who finished fourth in last year’s event, is currently ranked second nationally by Golfweek while Caroline Hedwell of Oklahoma State and Alex are ranked fifth and sixth, respectively, by Golfweek.
The Stanford Golf Course will be set up as a par-71, 6,117-yard layout for the weekend.
