TUSCON – The Vanderbilt women’s golf team ended the Arizona Wildcat Invitational in 14th place after posting a three-round score of 939 (305-328-306) in their first spring tournament of the 2007-08 season. Oklahoma State captured the team title with an 884 (288-298-298).
The Commodores, ranked 19th in the latest Golfweek.com poll, were led by sophomore Brooke Goodwin, who posted a three-round score of 18-over par, 231 (75-82-74), which put her in a tie for 40th place. Other Vanderbilt scores were Liebelei Lawrence (77-81-74=232, T-44), Jacqui Concolino (77-82-77=236, T-55), Megan Grehan (76-83-81=240, T-63), and Julie Bartholomew (89-88-83=260, 88).
Oklahoma State captured the team title by two strokes over Southern Cal and Duke, who both finished with an 886. Duke’s Amanda Blumenherst won medalist honors after firing an even-par 213 (68-72-73).
The Commodores return to the course March 9-11 at the UCF Challenge in Orlando.
