One of the top junior bowlers on the west coast has signed a Confirmation of Admission Offer to attend Vanderbilt University according to Head Coach John Williamson.
Robyn Renslow of Brentwood, Calif., is an 11-time Northern California All Star. She spent the past year at Los Medanos College as a full-time student so she will transfer to Vanderbilt for the fall semester with four years of collegiate eligibility.
“Robyn is in the mold of other top young women we have brought into our program,” said Head Coach John Williamson. “She is an excellent bowler and she has solid academic credentials. We think she will be a very good addition to our program.”
Renslow was a dominant force in the Northern California Junior Bowling Tour, becoming the youngest female to win a title back in 2006 at the age of 12. She won another title in 2007 and had back-to-back first place finishes in 2009.
She also has fared well in national tournaments, advancing all the way to 22nd place at the 2011 Junior Gold and 27th at the Team USA Trials. Renslow was outstanding at the 2010 Pac Coast Youth Tournament, finishing first in all events and second in singles. In 2011 Robyn was third at the Hillman Memorial Team event, third at the Firecracker Shootout and ninth at the North Pointe High School Tournament.
She has a strong academic background, graduating in the top 20 percent of her class. She is interested in pursuing a career in the medical field.
Renslow has a high game of 300, a high series of 789 and a high average of 227. She was a high school competitor and friend of another Vanderbilt signee, Amanda Fry of Antelope, Calif.
