NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Caroline Williams scored a career-high 26 points to lead No. 12 Vanderbilt to an 83-65 victory over South Carolina on Sunday.
The Commodores (23-4, 9-3 Southeastern Conference) have won six straight. They have not trailed or been tied since a Feb. 1 game at Kentucky.
Melanie Johnson led the Gamecocks (15-13, 5-8) with 14 points.
Williams went 6-for-8 from 3-point range in setting a career scoring mark for the second consecutive game. She scored 10 early points as Vanderbilt made 11 of its first 16 shots to take a 25-10 lead.
The Commodores shot 60.9 percent from the field, and South Carolina hit 34.8 percent.
Vanderbilt led by as many as 29 in the second half.
