NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Christina Wirth scored 16 points to lead Vanderbilt to a 92-37 victory over Lipscomb on Saturday.
Lipscomb’s point total was the lowest in school history. The Lady Bisons shot only 23.5 percent from the field and were only 3-for-20 from behind the arc.
Merideth Marsh and Jennifer Risper added 13 points for the Commodores (9-3). Katie Rollins led the Lady Bisons (2-10) with eight points.
Vanderbilt made eight of its first 10 shots to race to a 19-2 lead. Lipscomb made only four of its first 20 shots and shot 21.4 percent from the field in the first half.
The Commodores grabbed their first 30-point lead at 41-11 with 4:04 left in the first half on a basket and free throw by Liz Sherwood.
Shooting woes continued in the second half for the Lady Bisons, who scored their first basket at the 11:33 mark. By then, the Commodores had built a 68-21 lead and later led by 58 points.
