NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt women’s basketball team hosts its annual “Jam the Gym” event on Sunday, Jan. 27, when Ole Miss visits Memorial Gymnasium for a 2 p.m. CT tip-off.

All tickets for Sunday’s fan-appreciation game are available for only one dollar ($1). Events surrounding the Commodores’ key Southeastern Conference matchup include a headband giveaway for the first 1,000 fans in attendance as well as a mascot basketball game at halftime and a postgame clinic and autograph session.

Vanderbilt (13-6, 2-2 SEC) enjoyed a bye this Thursday after playing through a stretch of three games against Top-15 ranked opponents. Despite road losses at No. 10 LSU and No. 2 Tennessee, the Commodores come into Sunday’s game win an even conference record thanks to home wins against Mississippi State and then-No. 11 Georgia.

Commodore forward Hannah Tuomi is the SEC’s reigning Freshman of the Week. The Thornton, Colo., native notched the first double-double of her career at Tennessee just days after kick-starting Vanderbilt’s win over Georgia by scoring 14 of VU’s first 23 points.

Ole Miss (8-8, 2-1) plays Thursday at rival Mississippi State. The Lady Rebels are led by junior center Shawn Goff’s 13.7 points per game. Coach Renee Ladner’s squad has won three of four coming into Thursday’s game.

Thirteen-year veteran Charlie Mattos provides the call on WNSR-560 AM’s live radio broadcast, also available via the Commodores’ official athletic web site, vucommodores.com.
